First Church is uniquely, centrally placed at the intersections of government, the arts, commerce, education, and culture. The cross in our logo also resembles the points of a compass, with arrow points directing us outward toward our neighbors. We believe our calling is to SEEK, LOVE & SERVE, as we intersect and engage each unique element of the Downtown community.

Ash Wednesday Services – February 18

Join us on Wednesday, February 18 as we begin the sacred season of Lent with Ash Wednesday services.  We will offer two opportunities for worship:  Noon in the Chapel & 7:00 pm on the  2nd Floor Terrace

We hope you’ll begin your Lenten journey with us as we enter this season of reflection, repentance, and renewal.


If you’re unable to attend one of our Ash Wednesday services, you may want to stop by Broadway UMC (406 E. Amelia St) for Ashes to Go. This drive‑thru experience offers the imposition of ashes with our pastors.

Young Adult Lenten Book Study

Feeling worn out by life’s pressures? Discover the ultimate relief—the grace of God! As we journey through this Lenten season, we often find ourselves reflecting on the places where life feels heavy, uncertain, or overwhelming. Yet Scripture reminds us that God meets us right there—in the middle of our struggles.


Join us for a meaningful morning as we explore 2 Corinthians 1:3–4, a passage that reveals the deep compassion of God and the comfort He offers when life is hard. Together we’ll look at how God shows up in our challenges, participate in guided activities, and discover how the comfort we receive can empower us to comfort others.
